My Approach

I’m a licensed psychologist in California with nearly two decades of experience as a therapist, trainer, and teacher. I earned my Ph.D. from UCLA, and I am also a professor at Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology.

The primary therapy frameworks that I use are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). The effectiveness of these frameworks is supported by decades of research in psychology.

My expertise in multicultural psychology and my own experiences as a woman of color have taught me how important culture and context are to understanding behavior. Therefore, I bring cultural humility to my work to develop mutually respectful relationships with my clients.

Let’s Connect.

Finding a therapist who you feel comfortable with is critical to the success of therapy, but it’s easier said than done! That’s why I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so you can see if we might be a good fit before scheduling a therapy session.

On our call, I’ll share my recommendations for what approaches might help so that you will have a sense of what therapy would look and feel like.
